Volunteer Project

HEARTBEAT
VIETNAM

The time I volunteered for the Vinacapital Foundation during High School was one of the most emotionally impactful experiences for me. I was tasked with preparing a comprehensive report, proposing all the pertinent information, including the unfortunate backgrounds, living conditions, and medical status of the children, to get the sponsor for pre-treatment and post-operative care for the heart children, including nutrition support, travel fees, health check-ups as well as scholarships so they can remain in school.

Reading through the children's situations made me profoundly grateful for what I have and instilled in me a strong desire to share my good fortune with those less fortunate. It contributed significantly to shaping me into the global citizen I am today. I've continued to volunteer for this program during the summer since then.

Established in 2006, Heartbeat Vietnam aims to finance life-saving heart operations for financially disadvantaged children with congenital heart defects (CHD) in Vietnam. Without timely surgery or intervention, these children face a diminished quality of life and insufficient mental and physical development. Many children go undiagnosed, and some may succumb while waiting for assistance. Without treatment, 85% will not survive past their 18th birthday. Every contribution, regardless of its size, plays a crucial role in saving the lives of these children. Donate if you can.
